ROAS Calculator
Calculate return on ad spend and your break-even ROAS from gross margin.
Free · no sign-up · runs privately in your browser
Enter revenue and ad spend (or tap Try an example). Add your gross margin to see whether the campaign actually makes a profit.
Formula: ROAS = revenue ÷ ad spend. Break-even ROAS = 1 ÷ gross margin. Gross profit after ads = revenue × margin − spend.
How to use it
- Enter revenue attributed to the campaign and the ad spend.
- Optionally add your gross margin % to see break-even ROAS and profit after ads.
- Use the same currency and time period for both figures.
Example
£12,000 revenue on £3,000 spend = 4.00× ROAS (400%). At a 40% margin, break-even ROAS is 2.50×, so gross profit after ads = £4,800 − £3,000 = £1,800.
FAQs
What is a good ROAS?
It depends on your margin. Break-even ROAS = 1 ÷ gross margin. At a 25% margin you need at least 4× just to cover product costs and ad spend.
ROAS vs ROI?
ROAS compares revenue to ad spend only. ROI compares profit to total investment, including product costs, fees and labour.
Which revenue should I use?
Use revenue attributed to the ads over the same period as the spend. Attribution models vary, so be consistent.
